In grepolis, you must join an alliance in order to have the support of others in your endeavors. Without an alliance, you are more likely to be attacked by people who might not want to incite diplomatic incident, or do not want to be retaliated at by alliance members. Alliances can support you, help you, to grow and prosper in Grepolis...


Homer knew the value of strong allies. In ancient Greece alliances between different city states were an extremely important political decision. Sparta only became a rival to Athens when it amalgamated with allies from Corinth and Argos. This applies also for you: eventually you will have to decide do you join an alliance with other players or what kind of alliance do you want to establish yourself.

in order to join an alliance, you must receive an invite from a person in the alliance with invite abilities, if you receive an invite, you will receive a notification in the reports tab and you can accept an invite by going to the alliance tab and clicking the check mark by the alliance's name, clicking the red x will delete the invite. Usually you will have to request an invite from an alliance (their invite requirements and who you contact is usually posted on their alliance profile) but sometimes, in the case of MRAs (massive Recruiting alliances), you will receive the invite without any warning

In the beginning it is often better to find an already established alliance rather than founding your own. Founding your own alliance is easy but managing it without experience is very difficult. You may quickly find that you are out of your depth!

First of all it is best not to apply to the most highly ranked alliances as these are more likely to reject beginners. The alliance that makes most sense to join is the one that's close to you. This means they can easily offer you support against attacks and help you build up quickly. To establish your own alliance is a big step in your development as a Grepolis player. It involves a lot of work and many duties which is why one should first possess some good game experience. To establish an alliance you must click the 'Alliance' on the left side of the page. In the new window, you can observe all your current alliance invitations and you can establish an alliance yourself. To do this you must register the name of the new alliance. The name can later be changed by a founder.

In order to give people privileges (rights), you should first make sure that you trust a person. This is done by observing this person to see if they are the type to help alliance members, you might know a person previously, you might ask another person that you trust, etc. This is one of the most important factors pf choosing someone for a position. As soon as the alliance is established it's forum should be prepared allowing the players to introduce themselves. It will be there, where you will eventually discuss the tactics and strategy of the alliance. The alliance forum can later be expanded and subdivided to accommodate the new topics and threads.  Moreover you should update the alliance profile, which publicly presents the alliance. Inviting members is an important consideration. Players close by are important to recruit as they can offer you the best support. The potential candidates should be in the vicinity, should have approximately the same score and be active players. If you notice that a member already has some good experience make sure to promote them so some of the responsibility is delegated to them. A good alliance has about 30-40 members and a very active alliance forum.
