Fire Ships are burning ships that approach enemy fleets and ignite them. Only the defender can use Fire Ships. During an attack, every Fire Ship destroys one enemy ship, while destroying itself in the process. They are very slow, and are often passed up for [[Bireme|Biremes]] for support.

This ship defies all Grepolis logic. It has a horrible attack stat, and yet it's capable of taking out a Trireme in one hit. This is because they are suicide ships. I'm sure after you read this you will want to make 100's of them, but they have major downsides. Fire ships kill themselves when they kill an enemy ship. This means that if you only have fire ships for your defense, and the enemy sends multiple waves of strong attacks, you will quickly run out of fire ships. Biremes are a much better choice as they can still defeat the enemy but they can still survive to fight another day.  Also, fireships have NO EFFECT on [[Transports]], [[Light Transports]], [[Colony Ships]] or [[Hydras]]. Fire ships can ONLY destroy [[biremes]], [[triremes]], and [[Lightships]]!

Fire ships can be launched in an attack but only if that attack includes a Colony Ship...  In the attack phase Fireships do not do anything however they can help defend the city when it is undersiege.

Fire Ships are ships that can only be used for defense: they are the last defense and will only enter into battle after the regular naval battle. Fire Ships can not destroy Colony Ships or Transport Ships. Each Fire Ship can destroy one other ship, however it is also destroyed when it does so.
Must research Fire Ships in the Academy. Available at level 19.
