I'm thinking the strategy of taking a 10000 point city with no troops in it is a bad strategy. The first city like that I took got me some very rude messages about taking some other guy's farm, and which claimed that I was now "his farm". And while the notion of claiming an island as your own seems moronic to me, it's still best to try to avoid situations like this.
