World Wonders
World Wonders (often abbreviated as WW) brought a new team-play aspect to Grepolis after the 2.0 update. Once the world is in the "Era of World Wonders" stage, alliances may build world wonders on islands they completely own. World Wonders are built by collecting up resources. You can accelerate the construction of your world wonder by using 400 favour from all of the gods.
The Era of World Wonders
After a world has met certain requirements, the whole world will enter "The Era of World Wonders" together. Once in the The Era of World Wonders, alliances must race to build these world wonders on islands they own.
World Wonders Prerequisites
- The world must have been in existence for at least 6 months
- The sum of the top 50 alliances points must be at least 250 million
- If the world is not in the "Era of World Wonders" after 6 months, the amount needed for the sum of the top 50 alliances will be reduced by 13 million per month.
Construction and Resources
The amount of resources needed to build a Wonder will require alliances to set aside vast amounts if they wish to complete the Wonder first. The following table provides the amounts needed for Levels 1-10 in a Speed 1 World. Construction of Wonders can also be accelerated with the use of 400 Favor from each god. You cannot reduce the construction time after half of the time to build it has expired. So if the level takes an hour to build, you cannot reduce the time past 30min.
To calculate the needed resources for other Worlds, multiply the resource amount by the World Speed (ie: 200,000*2=400,000 or 200,000*3=600,000)
World Wonders and Bonuses
There are 7 different world wonders to be built. The WW construction spots can only be seen if the player has more than 5000 points. Note that each alliance cannot build more than one of each type. Once a WW is constructed it also gives the alliance who built it a small bonus.

Victory Conditions
If one alliance completely builds up and controlls 4 of the 7 World Wonders then they win in that world. After that a Hero World spawns to which the following players will have access:
- All active players on the World in with the victory conditions were set.
- Players from other worlds who have fulfilled certain criteria may join the Hero World. It is possible to play both worlds (normal world and Hero Worlds) in parallel.
- Hero Worlds have special configurations and exclusive game functions. See Hero Worlds for more information.
Hero Worlds & Wonders: The connection
I have to build how many Wonders?
How do I get into the Hero World?
Can I join a Hero World if I don't play that world?
- These are just a few of the many questions that players have about the Wonders and how they are connected to the Hero Worlds. This part of the Wiki should hopefully help you and answer these questions.
The Connection
The following examples should help to illustrate how the Hero Worlds are connected to the regular Worlds by the Wonders. As the feature is new, we hope to shed a little light on what happens when a Hero World is unlocked and when players can enter them.
To begin with: The Hero Worlds will be active on December 15th, 2011, but this does not mean that they will open or have access granted to them on that date. That is the date from which it will be possible to open one if the Wonders requirement is fulfilled.
Here is an example of how things may look on December 15th:
- World Alpha: The Age of Wonders has not yet begun.
- World Beta: The Age of Wonders has started, but only 2 Wonders are controlled by a single alliance.
- World Gamma: The Age of Wonders has started and 3 Wonders are controlled by a single alliance.
- World names are for illustrative purposes only
As you can see, none of the worlds have access to the Hero Worlds as yet. They still need to fulfil the Wonder requirements.
Another example of what the worlds may look like 2 weeks after the 15th of December shows how the Hero Worlds open:
- World Alpha: The Age of Wonders has not yet begun.
- World Beta: The Age of Wonders has started, but only 2 Wonders are controlled by a single alliance.
- World Gamma: The Age of Wonders has started and 4 Wonders are controlled by a single alliance. Hero World Gamma opens for players in that world.
- World names are for illustrative purposes only
In this example, World Gamma has unlocked access to the Hero Worlds and players from this world can now enter it if:
- They were a part of the alliance which controlled 4 of the 7 Wonders; or
- They have completed the requirements for the Heroic Tactitian Award
Players from Worlds Alpha and Beta will not be able to join Hero World Gamma as they have yet to complete the Wonder requirements.
This last example shows how things may look about a month after the 15th of December:
- World Alpha: The Age of Wonders has not yet begun.
- World Beta: The Age of Wonders has started, and 4 Wonders are controlled by a single alliance. Hero World Beta opens for players in that world.
- World Gamma: The Age of Wonders has started and 4 Wonders are controlled by a single alliance. Hero World Gamma opens for players in that world.
- World names are for illustrative purposes only
Here you can see that both Beta and Gamma have a Hero World, players from either world may join the other's Hero World so long as the requirements have been met.
Put simply: World Alpha players will not be able to join either Hero Worlds as their own has yet to be unlocked through the building of the Wonders. Players from Worlds Beta and Gamma can play in both Hero World as long as they have the Heroic Tactitian Award from their own world.
- Note: The 10% Favor bonus granted to an alliance for building the 4 Wonders will not apply for those players outside their own Hero World.
Additional Information
- Players that complete at least 4 of the 7 World Wonders will receive the award Master of X. Players with this award will receive a 10% max favor bonus (500+50=550) as a reward for their efforts in their native Hero World.
- The award Heroic Tactitian will become available when an alliance controls 4 World Wonders and a Hero World is spawned.
- Once the Age of the World Wonders has begun on a world, no new players can join that world.
