Morale is a feature which compensates for the disadvantage a small player faces when being attacked by a larger player. It is a World setting.

What is Morale?

When one player attacks another, a Morale figure is calculated using the following formula:

[(Points Defender/Points Attacker)*3+0.3]*100

If this figure is greater than 100, morale will be 100% and will therefore have no effect on a battle.

With effect from 1 November 2017 this figure is reduced by 7% for every city a player has over their first. Therefore if a defending player has 2 cities, the attacker's power is reduced by up to 63% (as against 70% for a single city player). This drops to a maximum of 56% for a player with three cities and so on. By the time a player has 11 cities; no matter how small those cities are; morale will have no effect at all.

The lowest figure of morale possible is 30 which is now only possible when the defending player has only one city. Essentially, it helps smaller players as it means larger players need to think twice before sending an attack. The larger player's numerical advantage will not help them as much.

The impact of morale on your attacks can be predicted using the Simulator.
