This is a good unit to put in a ground attack army. You may think that the Chariot would be better, but Hoplites have major advantages over them. The main advantages is how easy it is to make them. They cost little and they can quickly be replaced. There horrible speed shouldn't be much of an issue as in most attacks they will be sent via transport ships and they shouldn't ever be used to plunder. |

This is a good unit to put in a ground attack army. You may think that the Chariot would be better, but Hoplites have major advantages over them. The main advantages is how easy it is to make them.
