The instructor encourages new recruits. This makes them more eager to work, and are finished 10% more quickly. For Example, in a level 10 Barracks, it takes 0:10:13 for 1 Hoplite to finish, which is equal to 613 seconds. 613x 0.10= 61.3

613- 61.3= 551.7

So the Hoplites will be finished in 552 seconds (rounded off) after you have researched Instructor, which is equal to 0:09:12
